The Régua de Leitura app was developed by Hugo A. Miranda. This policy explains clearly and transparently how the app handles information. The Portuguese version is the original text.
1. Summary
The app runs entirely on your computer. It does not collect, store on servers or transmit any personal data. There is no sign-up, login, user account, advertising or tracking.
2. Data the app does not collect
- Name, email, phone number or any identifying information;
- Geographic location;
- The content of your documents, texts or screens;
- Usage data, telemetry, analytics or error reports sent over the internet.
3. Data stored locally on your device
To remember your preferences between sessions, the app writes a settings file to its own data folder on your computer. This file may contain:
- Position, size and color of the rulers;
- Settings profiles you create;
- Display preferences (for example, Spotlight Mode and shortcuts).
This information never leaves your device. You can delete it at any time by removing the app's data or uninstalling it.
4. System permissions
The app may use:
- Windows notifications, to show usage tips;
- Global keyboard shortcuts, to show or hide the rulers.
These permissions are used only for the functions described above and involve no data collection.
5. Network connections
The app does not connect to the internet and does not send or receive data from external servers.
6. Sharing with third parties
Since no data is collected, nothing is shared, sold or transferred to third parties.
7. Children
The app does not collect data from anyone, including children and teenagers.
8. Distribution through the Microsoft Store
When installed through the Microsoft Store, Microsoft itself may collect download and crash statistics under the Microsoft Privacy Statement (opens in a new window). The developer has no access to personal data through this process.

Any changes will be published on this page, with the update date revised.
